But downloading 500+ songs manually is hell, so I built ZipifyTunes; a simple tool that converts any playlist CSV into MP3s with album art + metadata! Now I’m listening offline again on my iPod Nano 5th gen and loving it. And with @peersky I can even upload the ZIP to IPFS or Hypercore and stream my songs from public gateways on my phone. We backed up Spotify (metadata and music files). It’s distributed in bulk torrents (~300TB). It’s the world’s first “preservation archive” for music which is fully open (meaning it can easily be mirrored by anyone with enough disk space), with 86 million music files, representing around 99.6% of listens.
