New resource alert! We’ve launched an open access platform, Historical Photographs of Hong Kong. We’ll be bringing online increasing numbers of digitised slides, prints and negatives donated to the Hong Kong Collections in the University of Bristol Library
Free Images and Open Access | National Gallery of Art
Free open access image downloads are now available directly from the object pages located on this website. Close to 60,000 images are available for download, and we will continue to add more images for free access as more works are photographed and as works of art enter the public domain.
Welcome | Historical Photographs of Hong Kong
Developed by the Hong Kong History Centre and Special Collections at the University of Bristol, Historical Photographs of Hong Kong offers a rich visual history of Hong Kong, featuring images that span from the second half of the nineteenth century to the 1980s. These capture both the urban landscapes of central districts and the lives of residents and visitors there, and its rural worlds.
