i've found i lately enjoy reading essays by carefully-prompted LLMs more than i enjoy nearly any contemporary human-constructed outputhm. @shakoistsLog this seems dangerous in several directions https://t.co/fenRaPVKnB pic.twitter.com/2LTxXhHdXJ— eigenrobot (@eigenrobot) August 12, 2026

We are seeing a new trend in submissions to @arxiv (and presumably to conferences and journals): Authors submitting papers whose contents they likely do not understand. 1/— Thomas G. Dietterich (@tdietterich) September 13, 2026

I've been enjoying writing screenshot essays lately because they provide more depth than tweets while being easier to finish and share than blogs. To help with this, I built a little app that makes it easier to make nice looking ones: https://t.co/mybEawgwgFEnjoy! https://t.co/gMHUCMzRbL— Ian Vanagas (@IanVanagas) March 30, 2024

In your Web browser, of course. And not all of me; that'd be weird! You're using Firefox, right? You can catch up by email with 112 other folks, on a social network in the Meta, commonly known as Facebook, Threads, Blacksky in the Atmosphere or X, commonly known as Twitter as I continue to share and work on all things towards history, open digital technology, culture — and everything in between. I write essays of varying length; most recently I wrote "On the Notion of Shutting the Fuck up". I keep notes weekly and (near) daily links. Here's what I use on the regular.

This Web Tool Sabotages AI Chatbots By Making Them Really, Really Slow
Artist Sam Lavigne created ‘Slow LLM’ to make people question their dependence on tools like Claude and ChatGPT. Or at least, make them super annoying to use.

God I know people find this site slightly annoying or whatever but this is the pinnacle of social media to me. This whole feed is running on someone's CPU serving thousands of users in a decentralised manner. Absolutely lovely. Thank you space cowboy

The For You feed is going to be down while I'm upgrading the CPU from AMD 7900 (12 core) to AMD 9950X3D (16 core). This should increase how many users it can serve by ~50%-100%. If all goes well it should be back up in an hour or two.
