"Bluesky elder" The term is used only in two ways: -as an insult -as a joke It came from someone using it back in the day as if some sort of benefits and privilege should come from seniority and time spent on the site. It was, and still is, properly mocked. A meme I made about it from way back:
sweetbee tried to attack and dethrone drill, got bigmad when this didn't work (this is the origin of the phrase "bluesky elders"), left for nostr (twitter with even more crypto, jack's there since we were mean to him) and tried to create a sex worker exodus, quietly returned when that failed too

"Don't Engage, Just Block" absolutely IS the Bluesky motto. The notion of a "Bluesky Elder" is vaguely ridiculous but the ONE THING that we oldheads are good for is telling the new folks that blocking without engagement is praxis, and encouraging them to do it early and often.
