AT Protocol is public by default. Everything you write goes into a signed, archived, and rebroadcastable repository that anyone can read from and moves throu…

The Atproto Spaces Alpha is Live - AT Protocol
Atproto Spaces, formerly known as “the permissioned data protocol,” is a new extension to atproto that enables non-public data. The alpha is now officially open. Here’s how to develop with it and what to expect as we work towards the full release.

Permissioned Data Diary 2: Buckets - Daniel's Leaflets
The second in a series of posts building up a solution to permissioned data on atproto. We introduce buckets: a new protocol primitive for creating a shared social context.
Permissioned data is a love triangle - Nick's Blog
Permissioned data is a love triangle between the user, the identities they grant permissions to, and the applications everyone uses to view controlled data. We don't need to change or reinvent the protocol to have it, because ATProtocol already supports it.

Permissioned Data Diary 5: What’s in a Name? - Daniel's Leaflets
In this permissioned data diary, we dive deep into the URI structure for permissioned data on atproto and use it to motivate a bunch of the larger design.
#atproto devs, I know data is public and accessible But we need more tools to help people download their data in *familiar and user-friendly* formats Data ownership is also about enabling people to use and move their data in whatever way they desire, even if they wish to take it outside the protocol

I'd argue that having an export tool to fetch the data from the PDSes into familiar data files would be very much appreciated by the general public, both webcomic authors and readers (especially converting the block content into something clean to import anywhere they might desire)

@dholms.at motivated me to make a follow up post on Stratos, @transrights.northsky.social approach to permission data on ATproto! This one is a bit of a brief technical overview and as a nice bonus, I've made the code base public.
Stratos: Lets get Technical
chipnick.comEmerging from being "down in the technical weeds" of #atproto is a little mashup of @semble.so & WayFinder (wayfinders.network) Semble team released "open collections" this week - here we explore the "private & permissioned data" collection, created by @bmann.ca & now with 3 other contributors
This could be very relevant for funding the atproto ecosystem, especially once private data is supported ifp.org/unlocking-a-... "The challenge is not data scarcity, but rather barriers to ... utilizing existing high-quality data resources." also see associated funding call ifp.org/rfp-launch/
